HCMC, May 4th, 2019Coca-Cola Vietnam has officially launched Coca-Cola Plus, using 100% original formula from Japan. Coca-Cola Plus products in Japan are certified with FOSHU stamp through the action of dietary fiber suppress fat absorption from a meal, helping improve consumers diet to get healthy life.

FOSHU is a certification issued by Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA) under the government of Japan, referring to products tested and approved officially for claim on physiological effects on the human body. FOSHU certifies the labelled effects for 15 categories of health use such as GI Functions, Cholesterol Level, Blood Pressure, Bone, Teeth, Blood Glucose Level, Triacylglycerol, Body Fat etc. The unique fact about FOSHU certification is the products must undergone comprehensive clinical tests (medical and nutritional), including effects upon health, safety levels, active ingredients contained, and even the information displayed in the label.

In order to obtain FOSHU stamp, Coca-Cola Plus, like any other products, has undergone extensive tests, which could last up to 03 years. The application documents for review are to be transferred by CAA to two respective organizations: simultaneously, Consumer Commission reviews efficacy, and Food Safety Commission reviews safety. Afterwards, the application documents will be reviewed by Assessment Committee for Novel Food (under Consumer Commission) for the efficacy and safety. During such double review process, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition or Registered 3rd party Analytical lab will join the process.

The launch of Coca-Cola Plus is aligned to Coca-Cola’s growth direction to become a Total Beverage Company. Accordingly, the company has been carrying out researches in order to introduce a diverse range of products catering to all demands for beverage among consumers, especially the products “born to serve with meals”, keeping the original taste of the foods while helping improve the joy of eating. With the launch of a product with FOSHU certification in Japan, and whose effects and safety undergone clinical tests, Coca-Cola Plus will help consumers find a balance between their dietary preferences and the need to protect their own health.

Coca-Cola Plus is now available across most supermarkets, convenience stores and other retailers in Hanoi and HCMC.
