• Provides up to 6,000 liters of safe drinking water per day to Ha Tinh residents
• 100 out of 4,270 gifts from Tet of Love by Coca Cola given to villagers

Ha Tinh Province, January 23, 2018 - On the journey to support community development to bring sustainable values, improve the capacity of local women, and bring Tet of Love to everyone, Coca-Cola Vietnam in cooperation with Phu Tai Duc Group inaugurated the EKOCENTER in Vinh An Village, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province. EKOCENTER will be operated by a social enterprise Phu Tai Duc Group to create shared values for communities.

Similar to the EKOCENTERs in other locations, EKOCENTER Ha Tinh will focus on three main objectives: safe drinking water, women economic empowerment, and community facilities including refined safe drinking water, necessities, soft-skills training and online training, internet services, health, sports ...

Ha Tinh is one of the central provinces that have always suffered from natural disasters, storms and floods every year. In particular, the clean water supply in Ha Tinh has been affected by salinity intrusion and severely impacted by the effects of major storms and environmental pollution, causing many challenges in daily life. EKOCENTER is equipped with a water purification system with a capacity of 6,000 liters per day to provide safe drinking water to local households contributing to solve some of the challenges to clean water access due to the effects of climate change and environmental pollution that Ha Tinh is facing today.

EKOCENTER is powered by green energy from solar panels installed on the roof of the kiosk. The center is equipped with a water purification system with a capacity of 6,000 liters per day to provide safe drinking water for local households. The computer lab at the center will also provide local children and women access to information, allow them to practice computer skills, and participate in online start-up training. It has helped to improve the capacity of economic for local women.

According to the social enterprise model, business activities in kiosks providing necessities, coffee, and computer labs will be managed and operated by Phu Duc Tai Group according to the criteria of re-investment. A portion of the proceeds from the business will continue to be invested in the facilities, infrastructure, and social programs of the Center period. In particular, vocational training such as barista, local guides, cooking, handicrafts, baking, etc. will contribute to sustainable values for the local community as a whole and bring joy to Vinh An village.

At the inauguration ceremony, Coca-Cola Vietnam and Phu Tai Duc Group handed over 100 Tet gifts from the Tet of by Coca-Cola to the villagers of Vinh An. This is the annual activity of Coca-Cola since 2007 wherein every Tet holiday, Coca-Cola Vietnam will offer Tet gifts to hard-working families across the country with a warm and happy greeting to everyone. Over 21,000 gifts have been donated to the program. This year, more than 4,270 Tet gifts with the message of Tet of Love will continue to be awarded with the total value of 2.5 billion VND.

Besides this, the social enterprise of Phu Tai Duc Group also organized a training program for 30 local women; together with Coca Cola Vietnam, the Red Cross organized health examination and free medicines for 400 people in Thach Vinh commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province.

EKOCENTER is a Coca-Cola community initiative that promotes public-private partnerships around the globe. In Vietnam, the first EKOCENTER center was launched in 2015; by the end of 2017, 09 EKOCENTER centers were established in Ho Chi Minh, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Ha Long, Ben Tre, An Giang ,Dong Thap, Hue, and Ha Tinh. It is expected that 4 new centers will be built in 2018.
