HCMC, 10/01/2017 – On Tet Holiday of 2017, Coca-Cola Vietnam collaborating with Vietnam Red Cross Center, People’s Committee and Women Association of locals deploys the 11th community supporting program “Tet Holiday with Coca-Cola” with the theme of 2017 named “Tet Holiday – A new beginning”. Besides more than 2,7000 helpful gifts in total of 1.8 billion VND given in 12 provinces and cities in the country, Coca-cola also has 10 special gifts helping startup, supporting education in total of 200,000,000 VND for poor families who always strive for their dreams. 

After 11 years of going along with Vietnamese people, program “Tet Holiday with Coca-Cola” with the symbol of yellow swallow’s wings meaning a Tet Holiday of linking and aiding the poor to have a happier and more complete Tet Holiday. Mr. Sanket Ray, General Director of Coca-Cola Vietnam said: “Over 10 years of supporting community through program “Tet Holiday with Coca-Cola” helped us to understand how much Lunar New Year means to Vietnamese people. Therefore, Coca-Cola always tries to help more and more people to have a happier and warmer Tet Holiday.”

In 2017, the program has the theme “Tet Holiday – A new beginning” with more meaningful messages. “Lunar New Year in Vietnamese people’s mind is an occasion for saying goodbye the old and greeting the new. It is also a milestone for a new journey, a belief in a new beginning for every individual and family. With Coca-Cola’s spirit, a new beginning shall start with giving more. Hence, in this year, we shall conduct the program named “Tet Holiday – A new beginning” to not only bring a happy Tet Holiday to people, but also contribute to make their “new beginning” brighter and more hopeful”, said Mr. Nguyen Khoa My – Public Affairs and Communications Manager of Coca-Cola Vietnam.

The Tet gifts shall be given to people at 6 EKOCENTER (Coca-Cola’s Community Activity Center) and over 6 provinces and cities of the country. Especially, for 10 poor families in Hanoi, Da Nang and HCMC, Coca-Cola and local government visited them at home to courage and search for their dreams and needs, in order to assist startup instrument and scholarship for each family to pursue their dream. By that, the program contributed to open a new beginning for the families mentioned above, giving them an opportunity to have a better life. 

From 2007 up to now, the community supporting program “Tet Holiday with Coca-Cola” has given 18,700 gifts to poor families in total of more than 12 billion VND. Not only did it bring the quality and prestige products,  but the chain of activities “Tet Holiday – A new beginning” in this year also continues fulfilling Coca-Cola’s desire of yielding practical and meaningful values for community.
